Tips for Drinking More Water

Sometimes people can be dehydrated and not even know it. Sometimes we know we should drink more water, but we either lose track or would just rather have a soda. [this girl!]

I have definitely been trying to drink more water lately! I've been on quite a kick for the past few weeks and, I have to say, I just feel so much better! My hair and skin are noticeably more hydrated, I don't get as many headaches and I don't feel as hungry as I did before.

Today I am teaming up with CVS Health and The Coca-Cola Company to help you satisfy your body's thirst for wellness! There are so many amazing benefits of hydration and there are so many great hydration options available at CVS.
CVS makes staying hydrated so convenient. You just walk in, grab a smartwater or vitaminwater and go about your day! Here are some tips that have helped me stay hydrated this summer and some tips that have helped me on my mission to drink more water.
1. Make it Portable
If you are near a CVS, you have the convenience to stop in and grab a smartwater. If you aren't near a CVS, find a portable water bottle that you can refill and take on the go with you. Take it with you everywhere and you'll find that you will begin drinking it without even thinking about it! I like this Brita portable water bottle from CVS.
2. Mix and Match Flavors
Sometimes I don't want water because I just want something that "tastes good" instead. Enter vitaminwater. I like mixing my vitaminwater and smartwater together for a subtle hint of flavor.
3. Add Fruit
Another easy way to add flavor is to add fruit. Keep some chopped up fruit in your fridge for an easy grab-and-go option. Mix and match fruits to create different flavors. My favorite thing to add to water is fresh mint! So refreshing!
4.Track Your Progress
I'm a very visual person so I like to use my food journal to track how much water I've had in a day. I'm sure there are also several apps that are just as helpful.

5. Reward Yourself
Have you been doing great at staying on track? Reward yourself with a little treat! Maybe it's a dessert, a new lipstick or a fun girl's night out. Whatever it is, you totally deserve it!!
6. Set an Alarm
Set alarms on your phone for every few hours with what you should have consumed by that time. This will help you feel like you're staying on track throughout the entire day.
7. Water Before Every Meal
I always try to drink a full glass of water before I eat a meal. This will help with digestion and help keep you from overeating!
8. Beauty is in the Eye of the Water Holder
There are too many reasons not to drink water. It is proven to help with the appearance of your skin and hair, it is healthier for you than any other drink, the list goes on.... Water should be everybody's number one beauty secret! I love the water face mists, much like this one. They are such an instant refresher!
Overall drinking more water has not been hard. Do I still forget or just not want it at times? Definitely. CVS has made it so much easier to stay on track though! You can't beat the convenience of stopping in for a nice, ice-cold bottle of smartwater or vitaminwater.
I know this summer has been a scorcher! So I hope at least one of the tips that has helped me will help you! So maybe you won't always have fresh fruit to add to your water, but pick up a bottle of vitaminwater to still have a splash of flavor!
